The Preschool Curriculum
The preschool program uses the reading readiness program Houghton Mifflin PRE-K: Where Bright Futures Begin. This is a ten theme based integrated pre-K program that provides children with the foundation skills they will need to succeed as lifelong learners.

The curriculum explores literature, child-centered themes that focus on oral language, listening and comprehension, vocabulary, phonemic awareness and alphabet knowledge.
The program also includes math related lessons as well as social/emotional development, science, social studies, music and art.

In addition to using the Houghton Mifflin reading program, the preschool also has created, The Literacy Book Bag Program. This program stresses the importance of literacy and the home-school connection to early reading. The Literacy Book Bag Program provides the children with books purchased by the Preschool. Each book is related to a monthly theme with included activities. This is an excellent opportunity for parents and children to begin to develop a love for literacy and reading!
