General Mills
provides a program
to our schools that
benefits grade k-8th
that is referred to
as the Box T op
Program.
General Mills
sends the Hanover
PTA a check twice a
year for each
school with a total
that reflects the
amount of box tops
clipped from
participating
products and the
percentage due from
the online shopping
purchases at the 60
plus participating
brand named stores.
Hanover Schools have
been committed to
this program since
2003 and continue to
push to raise
awareness of this
program. The more
families, neighbors,
friends, co-workers,
and businesses that
help us by clipping
box tops and start
their online
shopping purchases
at
www.boxtops4education.com,
the more money that
can be raised to
benefit the Hanover
students. Each year
General Mills offers
each of the 3
Hanover schools up
to $40,000 to clip
box tops and shop
online.
Everyone that
participates will
put us closer to
reach this goal. |

Clip
Box Tops
Please help out by
clipping box tops
off the
participating
products. Each box
top is worth 10
cents. There are
drop boxes located
at the transfer
station, library, town hall, Salmond
building, Council on
Aging, and the 3
participating
schools. To find a
list of
participating
products visit
http://www.boxtops4education.com. Remind anyone you
know to clip box
tops.
Shop Online
There are over 60
participating brand
name stores that are
involved. For
Hanover Schools to
receive a percentage
of your purchase,
your shopping spree
needs to start at
http://www.boxtops4education.com.
Once logged in,
click the link to
the online store of
your choice. When
you make a

General Mills has
sent HPTA $24,000
since 2003. This
money is spent in an
area referred to as
MIND, MUSCLE, and
the ARTS. Items that
have been purchased
are a treadmill for
the Wellness Program
at the Middle
School, composite
picnic benches for
outside learning,
poet in residence
program, playground
equipment, recess
play bags which have
balls, jump ropes, frisbees, etc. This
an area that our
school budget can
not cover.
At the School Level
- How 10 cents adds
up!
There are two
contests run each
year to encourage
the students to
bring in box tops.
The classroom who
brings in the most
wins a prize. The
prize is chosen by
the teacher and/or
the students. The
most common prize
requested are board
games. The 2007 fall
contest just ended.
Each school had
great success. All
together Cedar,
Center/Sylvester,
and the Middle
School sent in over
31,668 box tops which
equates to over
$3,166. Wow! 10
cents does add up.
