The
Hanover Foundation for Educational
Enrichment needs your help! As an
independent, non-profit organization
founded in 1992 to seek creative
solutions to school budget cuts, we
need your support to achieve our
goals for our schools. Because these
cutbacks affect all subject areas,
the Foundation funds enrichment
programs that would not otherwise be
possible.
All funds collected by
the Foundation are distributed
through grants proposed by teachers,
parents or any interested
individuals. These grants are
selected for educations purposes
only and are not used to cover
administrative costs or salaries.
Although the Foundation provides an
opportunity to enhance Hanover's
educational system, it is not meant
as a substitute for community
funding. Over the last eleven years,
the Foundations has awarded annual
Enrichment Grants to teachers in all
Hanover Public Schools totaling over
$200,000.
Our primary sources of funding
are annual membership dues and Fall
and Spring fundraisers. In addition,
the Foundation has established a
Permanent Endowment Fund, the
interest from which also helps fund
enrichment grants.
The Foundation is governed by a
twenty person Board of Directors
including a representative from the
School Department, the School
Committee and the teaching staff.
The Board meets quarterly and the
meeting are open the entire
Foundation membership.
Our membership drive takes place
in the Fall to coincide with the
open houses at our schools. Grant
applications are distributed
annually to all teachers in
September and grants are awarded in
November.
Because we believe that a strong
education system benefits everyone
within the community, our mission is
to continue to support new and
different projects like these every
year, but we cannot do it alone. By
donating your time, money and/or
services, your participation will
reflect your belief that a strong
educational system is vital to the
residents, businesses and, most
importantly,the children of
Hanover. Please help us by
supporting our efforts and joining
our membership.
Sincerely,
The Hanover Foundation for
Educational Enrichment
