    December 7, 2011
    The PSAT scores for sophomores and juniors will be distributed on December 15th and 16th during homeroom. Guidance counselors will be presenting an explanation of the score report during this time. Parents can learn more about the PSAT score report in the attached presentation from college board.

    The Massachusetts ALF-CIO Scholarships are available to all high school seniors living in Massachusetts. Students with union affliation will be eligible for both the Mass AFL-CIO scholarships as well as the union scholarships offered by the union that the student is affiliated with. Please view and download the scholarship brochure, study guide and application at www.massaflcio.org for a complete list of union scholarships and their criteria.

    All students must:
    Be a senior in the high school and plan to attend some of form of higher education in the fall.

    • Sign up in the guidance office at the high school by December 12, 2011 to have an exam ordered for them
    • Complete the scholarship application and turn into Mrs. Byron by December 12, 2011
      Take the Labor History Exam on February 1, 2012

    Financial Aid & Paying for College

    The Hanover High School Guidance Department would like to cordially invite you to the MEFA College Financing Night for Students and Parents. A representative from the Massacusetts Educational Financing Authority will be presenting on financial aid applications and eligibility, the types of financial aid available, how colleges determine how much aid to offer and understanding award letters. Paying for college may seem daunting, but there are many types of financial aid and financing options available to help every family afford higher education. MEFA's College Financing Seminar demystifies the entire financial aid application process, breaking it down into straightforward concepts that every family can understand.
