- Harvest Fest - Costumed Event
- Afternoon of teacher sponsored activities for the students to participate in for a small cost. PTA supported event and all proceeds benefit the VNA

- Math Career Fair all day in the gym. Grade 7 displays projects related to math
- Turkey Trot which is a can drive fundraiser for the VNA held before Thanksgiving

- Winter Concerts for Band and Chorus are held. 5th & 6th perform together and 7th & 8th perform together on different dates.
- Grade 6 goes to see a Christmas Carol after performing the play as a grade with their LA classes
- Grade 8 goes ice skating in Rockland and Grade 7 goes roller skating in Whitman the day before vacation.

- Read Across America – Volunteers from around town and around the district come to read their choice of stories to a 5th grade classroom in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
Grade 6 goes to Cedar to read.
- Grade 5 Whale Day. The NE Aquarium comes to the gym with displays and this is in accordance with the curriculum.
- School wide Spelling Bee

- Grade 8 Dinner Dance for all 8th grade students held in the cafeteria. Casual evening of dinner and dance as a culminating to 4 years at HMS.
- Grade 8 Awards Ceremony held in the gym. Students receive academic achievement and outstanding effort awards.
- Last Day of School Volleyball tournament - Students and staff.
