Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment 2008 Grants

The Hanover Foundation for Educational Enrichment (HFEE) recently awarded $20,000 to fund enrichment grants throughout the Hanover Schools. Established in 1992 to provide funds for the enhancement of educational programs, the Foundation has worked to raise more than $140,000 for the benefit of students at all levels. This year’s grant recipients include:

Hanover High School:
• Formation of a Diversity Coalition
• Materials for the Foreign Language Resource Library
• Purchase of DVDs to enhance Foreign Language Program
• Enhancement of the Science Department Data Base
• Funding for the “Clothesline Project”

Hanover Middle School:
• Purchase of Document Camera for Math Department
• Twin Texts Reading: Fiction and Non-Fiction Across Content Area
• Materials for Design and Construction of Picnic Tables

Cedar School:
• Artist in Residence – Storyteller
• Fun with Science: Dinosaurs and Fossils
• Community Art & Science Mural Project
• Visiting Author and Writing Workshop
• Summer Reading Program: A Place for Joey
• Grade 2 Child Safety Program

Center/Sylvester School:
• Museum of Science traveling exhibit: Cryogenics: States of Matter
• Museum of Science traveling exhibit: Electro-Magnetism
• American Culture Children Series
• Simple Machines: The Way Things Work
• Technology Equipment to Enhance Visual Presentations
• Purchase of Picture Books to Supplement Writing Program
• Grade 2 Child Safety Program

The Foundation invites the community to support its efforts and join in celebrating its 16th anniversary by attending our Spring Fling on Saturday, March 1 at the Knights of Columbus, Route 139, in Pembroke. The evening’s events include dinner, a silent auction, raffles, entertainment by the high jazz band, Golden Apple Art Contest Winner, and more – all for only $20.
