Books for Babies
March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday- his
104th to be exact! Join the Hanover
Teachers’ Association in celebrating by
donating a book to a newborn at South
Shore Hospital. There is no better way
to honor Dr. Seuss and promote literacy.
It is our goal to instill a lifelong
love of reading and teach children from
a very early age that reading is special
and fun! So don’t miss out on the
PURRfect opportunity to pass on this
important message. Let’s work together
to motivate families to read to their
children by providing them with one of
their first books!
Last year we, along with local families,
community groups, and businesses donated
hundreds of books. Please consider
joining this year’s drive by donating a
book. Storybook Cove in Merchant’s Row
is even offering a 20% off discount to
customers who mention that they are
purchasing “Books for Babies”!
If you would like to participate in this
program by contributing a new children’s
book, please return the
form
(pdf) with your
book(s) to any Hanover public school
office or to the John Curtis Library
between February 1st and March 31, 2008.
Books will be delivered to the hospital
throughout the month of March. Each
donation will include a bookplate
recognizing the donor, the Hanover
Teachers’ Association, and the South
Shore Hospital.
Books will be collected until the end of
March.
