  Professional Development Committee

The mission of the Hanover Public Schools Professional Development Committee is to plan and support a professional culture that increases learning for all students.

The Professional Development Committee is a district-wide team of teachers, district staff members, and administrators who determine the professional development priority focus areas, topics, schedules, and method of delivery, which will be offered by the district. Professional Development opportunities are available to all Hanover Public School employees.

The Professional Development Committee will:

  • Align professional development and training with district initiatives and teacher determined topics
  • Leverage internal resources to deliver training to their peers
  • Create opportunities for embedded professional development (Peer observations, teacher led sessions and modeling, coaching and feedback/guidance)
  • Encourage the integration of technology into teachers’ daily plans by providing regular training, modeling, and support
  Professional Development District Goals
Utilizing the Common Core State Standards as our academic guidelines and understanding the need to educate the whole child, our overarching goal is to provide opportunities that require students to think both critically and creatively, solve complex problems, and prepare them for a globally competitive society.

The overarching professional development goal for the district is to support the education of the whole child.  We will focus on preparing and extending educator capacity in three areas: Curriculum Instruction & Assessment, Alignment, and Technology and Integration. Hanover Public Schools commits to continuous learning that will provide all educators with new insights and experiences to hone their skills, extend their knowledge, and enhance their beliefs and practices.
