    STUDENTS/STAFF:

Happy 5th of May or Cinco de Mayo – Today is not only a national Holiday in Mexico, but a very special day that is celebrated throughout the United States. Although, many people think it’s Mexican Independence Day it isn’t, it is really about the victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. An outnumbered, and untrained, 2,000 Mexican peasants fought to defend their territory against 6,000 well – trained French troops and won.

This victory is not only an opportunity for everyone in the U.S. to celebrate Mexican culture and honor those who fought, but is an example to the rest of us that even against great odds and seemingly impossible situations we still have a chance to succeed. So when times get tough remember this day…. Give it your best and never give up… Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

If anyone has Easter plant bulbs that they will not be planting you can bring them in as a donation for the garden in the front of the school. Your donation is very much appreciated!
