We hope your school year is off to a good start. During the month of November and through the end of 2019 the Hanover PTA will be running our Direct Donation Campaign to support Hanover Schools. We hope this letter will give you some insight into who we are, what we do and how you can support us.

What is the Hanover PTA?

The Hanover PTA is the Executive Board for all of the school PTA’s in Hanover. We manage all of the fundraising and are stewards of the funds raised. We work closely with administration to find the best ways to support the schools through volunteer efforts and grants to bring enriching educational experiences to all students. We also oversee the building PTA’s to ensure consistent practices and excellent experiences for all students.

How do your children benefit from the PTA?

The Hanover PTA supports all students in Hanover in grades K-12. Funds raised help with fun community building activities, educationally enriching field trips and special guests, speakers and technology improvements. In 2018-19 the Hanover PTA supported the schools with nearly $150,000 in grants, including over $35,000 in new reading materials for the HPS 2700 Literacy Initiative. In addition we supported the programs below:

At Center and Cedar:

  • Family events such as Ice Cream Social, Movie Night, Family Fun Days and Bingo
  • Special school wide events such as the Snowbowl, Sports Day, Science Fairs, Prime Time and 4th grade Memory Day/Farewell events.
  • Educational programs from Top Secret Science, Mass Audubon Society, Freedom Trail Foundation, Curious Creatures, Museum of Science, Animal Habitats, Animal Adaptation, Dig Into   Dinosaurs,   Math Night, Trivia Night, and more
  • Staff Appreciation Lunch and other staff hospitality events
  • SEPAC Special Presentation

At Hanover Middle School and Hanover High School: 

  • Technology purchases – Chrome Books and AV Projection System
  • Special presentations and HHS Speaker Marc Mero
  • Educational programs such as History Antiqua, Colonial Day, New England Aquarium Engineering and Erosion at HMS
  • Student groups such as the Be Better Club and Student Council
  • HMS Traverse Rock Wall and Green Screen
  • Coffee Cart program for special needs students
  • Washington DC Trip Support, HMS Dinner Dance, BBQ & Promotion Ceremony
  • HHS Credit for Life Program, Academic Awards and Graduation Stoles
  • Staff Appreciation Lunch and other hospitality events

How do we raise funds?

Money is raised through several fundraisers each year. These include the Boon Supply/Cookie/Soup Fundraiser at HMS and HHS, the Elementary school Fun Run and our Direct Donation campaign district wide.

How can I help?

Support our fundraisers, volunteer in the buildings, attend a meeting. We always welcome new faces and ideas and of course your generous donations are essential to the Hanover PTA mission to support all schools.

Our goal for this year's Direct Donation Campaign is $20,000 or $5,000 per school. To contribute to our please visit our website www.hanoverpta.org to make your online donation under the DONATE  tab (preferred) or use the attached form to make your donation. You may choose where your donation goes, 100% will go directly to the school(s) you select. Funds raised will help cover programs and events this year not covered in the school budget.

We encourage all families to support the Direct Donation Campaign. No gift is too small. Small gifts have big impact when we all contribute!
