Town of Hanover Pandemic Telehealth Advisory 3/27/20

Town of Hanover Seal

In anticipation of the COVID-19 pandemic severely straining our healthcare system, likely resulting in significant delays in accessing your primary care provider, and consistent with the advice from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, we strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with your health care provider’s telehealth service as soon as possible.

Many providers have varying levels of remote health care options available. Some telehealth providers can order tests, including a COVID-19 test (if criteria are met), recommend treatment, and prescribe medication.

If you are ill or injured in a non-emergent situation, please reach out to your primary care physician’s office or health insurance provider prior to seeking in-person care. Many providers have varying levels of remote health care options available.

A great option for anyone, regardless of health insurance or for the uninsured, is South Shore CareCall. This telehealth service allows you to have a video visit with a medical expert right from your smartphone, laptop, or tablet. A licensed South Shore CareCall expert can diagnose illnesses, recommend treatment, and prescribe medication, all within the CareCall app. A CareCall visit costs $49.99 and they do not accept insurance.

Another option is the Buoy.com/mass website which assists individuals with making decisions about seeking health care.

For any medical emergency, call 911

Please remember to remain informed and follow all state guidelines: www.mass.gov/covid-19. As of today, all residents must stay at home and only go out for essential services, for fresh air, and exercise, using the social distancing guidelines and hand hygiene instructions.

Please refer to the Town of Hanover COVID-19 Information and Updates page for additional information, including detailed information about accessing telehealth options.

Stay safe and be well,
