Weather Update 12/10/19

NWS 12/10/19

The most recent forecast has this current rain changing to snow overnight, but there remains uncertainty regarding timing, accumulation, and icing.  We won’t know the significance of the road and school conditions until the AM.   We will be in constant contact with the DPW and public safety departments to make a determination in the morning about the school day.  If a delay or cancellation is required, we will follow our normal protocols and make an announcement before 6:00 AM.  No announcement means we are opening at our normal times.

This is not expected to be a significant storm, but the timing is a challenge.  If a delayed opening is required, it will be a two-hour delay and morning FACE programs will also be delayed by two hours. The weather conditions are not going to be perfect, but hopefully we will have a normal start to our day.  As always, parents and guardians have the right to make decisions about keeping students home (or arriving late) if you don’t feel travel is safe, and our administrators will do their best to accommodate families who make that decision.

Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Matt Ferron
Superintendent of Schools
