Medication Policy
Hanover Public Schools Health Services encourages families, whenever possible, to administer medications before and/or after school.
Medications needed during school hours, must be administered by the nurse. A physician's order and parent/guardian permission form with the medication are required.
All medications must be delivered to the school in a pharmacy or manufacturer labeled container by the parent/guardian or responsible adult. No child is permitted to bring medication to school.
All medications must be stored in the health office.
Self-administration of medication and delegation of medication administration under the supervision of the school nurse according to Massachusetts General Law and Regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, may be allowed on an individual basis with parent permission and upon the discretion of the school nurse.
