Hanover High School Class of 2020 Student Recognition

Hope all is well, and I hope all are healthy.

I want to remind everyone about tonight’s student-recognition ceremony.  The video ceremony is in its final stages of production, and it’s to be aired this evening at 6:30 pm.

The recognition ceremony can be viewed on the following channels:

  • Comcast – Channel 22
  • Verizon – Channel 37

There will also be an HD Web Stream on HCTV Vimeo and the Hanover Public Schools Facebook and YouTube pages.

In honor of this date, June 5, 2020 – our original graduation date – we put together recorded sentiments, statements, and a sprinkling of speeches to recognize, to support, and to celebrate the Class of 2020.  Although some elements of a traditional graduation are included in this evening’s video production, our official graduation date remains Friday, July 31st at 7:00 pm on the field at Hanover High School.  The central focus of July’s graduation is a celebration of the past twelve years, the inclusion of family, and the long-awaited awarding of diplomas.

State guidelines around graduation are extensive and will need to be adhered to with tremendous care.  We are mandated, for instance, to shorten the duration of the actual event, which prevents us from including all of the elements traditionally recognized in our previously planned ceremony.  Tonight’s student-recognition celebration, however, allows us an opportunity to experience messages of student-recognition that otherwise would require omission; consequently, without tonight’s brief production, these sentiments never would have been enjoyed based on state mandates around our official graduation ceremony to be held this July 31st

That said, please enjoy tonight’s tribute to the Class of 2020, and share with me an opportunity to recognize this special class!

That’s it for now.  Be well.  Be safe.
