Senior Parade Update 5/28/20

May 28, 2020 Update

Some people were looking for clarification regarding the HHS Senior Car Parade scheduled for tomorrow.  I’m glad I received those inquiries because I have some important updates that need to be shared as well.

As much as I would have liked to support more than one student in a car for the parade, that expectation needs to be revised and adjusted based on safety concerns and social distancing guidelines.  So, after further consideration, and in consultation with local officials including the Town’s Health Agent, we are amending our expectations for tomorrow night’s car parade.  As mentioned, for health and safety reasons related to Covid 19, students who are not siblings cannot ride together in the same car – even with masks.  Students must either be solo in their cars, or with immediate family members.  We encourage families to join in this event and ride along with – or better yet, drive – our graduates during this town-wide celebration.

I've attachedHHS 2020 Parade Route a detailed image of the parade route, a Google Map of the route, and an updated expectation sheet.  Please know that only graduates and their immediate families are participating in the parade, alongside guidance from both the police and fire departments.  Only those participating in the parade will be allowed at the high school prior, during, and after the parade.  If you would like to watch the event, please use the attached route images to find a suitable place to view the proceedings.

On Friday night, (tomorrow), May 29th, students and immediate families should arrive at the high school around 6:00.  The parade will leave the high school by 6:30 pm.

I’ll send more communication prior to the parade.

That’s it for now.  Be well.  Be safe.
