Welcome to Food & Nutrition Services!

Nutrition is Priceless

Free schools meals are free this year and all future years!

Dear Parent/Guardian:

As you may be aware, the Massachusetts Legislature voted to continue free meals for all students for this year and all future years.  This program permits each student to receive one free breakfast (at the Middle School and High School only) and one free lunch per day.  If they wish, students at the Middle School and High School only may purchase additional meals or a la carte items, however, these additional items are not covered by the free lunch program and will be charged to your child's Nutrikids account.  If you expect your child will purchase additional items, please be sure that your child has sufficient funds in their Nutrikids account, or please add funds to their account to cover anticipated purchases on MySchoolBucks.com website. If there are no funds on account, students will not be permitted to receive or charge additional meals or snacks. If you have any questions about eligible purchases or accessing your child’s Nutrikids account on MySchoolBucks.com, please contact Lynn Petrowski at 781-878-5450 ext. 7135 or [email protected]. Thank you once again for your continuous support of our school nutrition department.

Even though meals are free, it is recommended that families fill out the free and reduced application if additional assistance is needed. Any questions please contact Food Service Director, Lynn Petrowski via [email protected] or 781-878-5450 ext 7135.

If you are not receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and have been approved for free school meals, you may be eligible for SNAP which provides monthly financial assistance to purchase groceries to Massachusetts residents who qualify. Find out if you are eligible for SNAP today by calling Project Bread's Food Source Hotline at 1-800-645-8333 and a counselor can help you apply over the phone. You can also apply on your own online at DTA Connect: https://dtaconnect.eohhs.mass.gov/apply

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

Nutrition & Health Education / Assistance Programs

  • WIC Nutrition Program: WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services free of charge to Massachusetts families who qualify. WIC stands for Women, Infants and Children.

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): SNAP helps low-income people and families buy the food they need for good health. You apply for benefits by completing a State application form. Benefits are provided on an electronic card that is used like an ATM card and accepted at most grocery stores.
