Cedar School Leadership Team Update 8/1/23

I hope your summer is going well and that you continue to enjoy the days ahead with family and friends. The purpose of this email is to provide several updates regarding the leadership team at Cedar School.

Departures

Lori Clements has accepted a new position outside of the district. We are very grateful for everything that she did for our students, staff, and school community during her year as our Special Education Administrator. We wish her all the best in her new role.

Kristen Gokey, one of our administrative assistants, will be retiring this month. Although I only had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Gokey for one year, I know the positive impact that she had on so many in this community. She attended Cedar School as a young child and had the opportunity to call this building her home for many years as an employee. Mrs. Gokey was passionate about working with our students and genuinely cared for our Cedar families. She made our families feel safe and always went above and beyond to support a visitor in the building. We would like to wish Mrs. Gokey the best of luck with her future endeavors. She will be greatly missed.

Arrivals

I am pleased to share that Kim Stoloski has accepted the position of Assistant Principal and Special Education Administrator at Cedar School. Mrs. Stoloski brings a wealth of experience, including her previous role as the Special Education Administrator at Center School. Furthermore, she has had a variety of different roles, including School Psychologist in Pembroke, Head Elementary School Principal in Kingston, and Assistant Director of Student Services for the Franklin Public Schools. She is a strong educational leader who has devoted her career to educating, inspiring, and advocating for students. I am excited to partner with Mrs. Stoloski as we work together to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for each student in this building.

Stacy Linnehan has accepted the position of Special Education Administrator for both Center and Cedar School. She will work closely with First grade families at Cedar School. Mrs. Linnehan was formerly a special education and general education teacher at the elementary level. She brings leadership experience as the former Acceleration Academy Coordinator for the East Bridgewater Public Schools. We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Linnehan to our Cedar community.

Sharon DelPrete has been hired as the new Administrative Assistant at Cedar. Mrs. DelPrete had previously been in the role of a preschool paraprofessional in the building for the past four years. Mrs. DelPrete also has experience as a fifth-grade special education teacher. She is a Hanover resident and will be a wonderful addition to our leadership team. Please help me in welcoming Mrs. DelPrete to our team.

The next communication shared will be regarding the Incoming kindergarten playdate. If you have an incoming kindergarten student, please mark your calendars for Thursday, August 24, 2023, between 9:00 am to 11:30 am. In the event of inclement weather, a rain date has been scheduled for the morning of Friday, August 25, 2023. Additionally, please know that teacher assignments will be shared with all families on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. More information will be communicated about these events in the next Cedar Connection.

In closing, please don’t hesitate to contact me regarding any questions or ideas that you would like to share by calling 781-878-7228.

Sincerely,
