Cedar School Leadership Team Update 8/5/22

I hope your summer is going well, and that you continue to enjoy the days ahead with family and friends. The purpose of this email is to share two updates regarding the leadership team at Cedar.

First, our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Ellen McLaughlin, has recently accepted a new position in the Barnstable Public School District. We would like to thank Mrs. McLaughlin for the commitment and enthusiasm that she brought to Cedar over the past three years, and for helping to make the building such a positive place to learn. We wish her all the best in her new adventure. We are evaluating all of our options to ensure that Cedar School has the leadership in place to keep the magic going while providing supervision and support for all of our staff and students when fall arrives.

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Special Education Administrator to Cedar, Ms. Lori Clements. Ms. Clements brings a wealth of experience to this new leadership role, including her extensive knowledge of how educational systems operate as well as a deep understanding of the unique challenges, strengths, and needs of a school community. This is a new administrative-level position in the school intended to support all of our students and staff, and I am excited about the opportunity it will provide to the entire school community.

Ms. Clements was the principal at the Manning School in Jamaica Plain. Prior to that, she was the Coordinator of Special Education for 8 years at the Manning School. Ms. Clements is a strong educational leader, with an emphasis on student services. She lives in Braintree with her husband Tighe and her stepdaughter, Clara. You will have the opportunity to meet Ms. Clements during the Administrative Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 18th, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Cedar School.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.

Sincerely,

Jesse Craddock
Principal
