Cedar School News and Updates 11/21/22

Share our Story

This section of the message is intended to share our story at Cedar. We invite parents, guardians, and caregivers to share their stories too, by communicating with us and one another.

As we journey on towards the Thanksgiving break, colder weather is settling into New England and we are working to make sure all of our students are prepared. Students should be arriving at school with a jacket, hat, and gloves for recess and in general. We will attempt to get the students outside for recess as often as possible.

I would like to recognize Mrs. Thornton and all of our Cedar students for the wonderful job they did honoring our Veterans. The performances were heartwarming and special.

The Lost and Found is overflowing with clothing and water bottles. If your child is missing something, please ask them to look through the items that are located near the main lobby of the building. Anything left behind at the end of the month will be donated. We simply don’t have the space for items to continue to accumulate.

Important Cedar Information

The Cedar Blizzard of Kindness is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 28th, and will continue until the end of the week. This school-wide event provides students with the opportunity to bring a gift card to school and place it in a box located in the main lobby. All donated gift cards will go directly to the Hanover VNA which will then distribute the gift cards to those in need. For every 5 gift cards collected, we will place a small snowflake on the snow globe bulletin board in the main lobby of Cedar. We will reinforce with students that “even the strongest of blizzards starts with just one snowflake.” On Friday of that week, Megmark Sign Company will place a fun display at the front entrance of the school to greet students as they arrive at Cedar.
