Cedar Principal, Meet and Greet, School Updates

I am reaching out to introduce myself to you as the new Principal at Cedar Elementary School. I am honored and excited to be joining a community with such rich history and tradition, and one that has already provided me with such a warm welcome.

I am excited that this new opportunity will be close to home, as my family recently moved to the South Shore. I am looking forward to being able to spend time getting to know both the Cedar and Hanover communities. My family and I recently attended Hanover Day, and we cannot wait to spend more time exploring all this dynamic community has to offer.

I started my career teaching as an Elementary School teacher in Newburyport, and for the past four years, I served as an Elementary Assistant Principal in Franklin. I am eager to share my experiences and enthusiasm with the Cedar community while growing personally and professionally along the way. Please know that every decision will be made with the student's best interest in mind.

I am spending the summer becoming familiar with the building while also connecting with staff. As we get closer to the start of the school year, you can anticipate receiving additional information from me related to the beginning of the year. Please know that there are two events in August that you might want to consider marking on your calendar. First, I will be conducting a meet and greet with all Cedar families on Thursday, August 18th, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Cedar playground. Second, the Cedar PTA will be hosting the Kindergarten Play Date on the morning of Thursday, August 25th. There will be two Kindergarten sessions, from 9:00 am to 10:15 am and 10:15 am to 11:30 am. Your child's assigned session will be determined after teacher assignments have been shared on Monday, August 15th.

I wholeheartedly believe that all students can achieve at high levels, and it is my goal to ensure that each child in this building learns in an environment that is safe and nurturing. I know that Cedar has demonstrated success over the years, and I want to continue this trend of excellence.

My door is always open to you, and I welcome your input and ideas. I look forward to our first school year together and working with our amazing students, staff, families, and community.

Respectfully,

Jesse Craddock
Principal
