Cedar School News and Updates 8/17/23

Information, Important Dates, Shout Outs

I hope that you are enjoying the final few weeks of summer with family and friends. As we get closer to the end of August, I would like to share some important information with you knowing that school is just around the corner.

At this time, you should have received information from Hanover Public Schools alerting you that the Aspen Portal is open to view teacher assignments. If you have not received that notice or you’re still having difficulty logging into the portal, please reach out to the Cedar School main office at 781-878-7228. I ask that you please check all your email inboxes for this important information.

Summer is typically a time of the year when the school hallways are quiet and the overall traffic in the building is minimal. This has not been the case at Cedar School this summer. Renovations to both the main office and front entrance at Cedar have helped reshape the appearance of the building as you walk up to the main entrance. The enclosed vestibule that was created has also added another layer of security to the building. We are excited about the amazing work that has been done!

Below are some important dates to get us started this year. We have intentionally scheduled the student visits in two sessions to allow for fewer people in the building and classrooms, while also providing ample parking at the Cedar School complex. Please know that teachers will be in their classrooms ready to meet and greet the children at the designated times, so we ask that you please adhere to the times listed below. Parent(s)/guardian(s) must stay with their child at Cedar School during the student visits.

Shout Outs

I would like to take a moment to thank the Hanover Facilities Department for all the work they’ve done around our complex. Over the past two weeks, weeds and vines were removed around the exterior of the building, new mulch was placed around the trees and signage, and improvements to our parking lot have been made.

If you know of someone who has not been receiving the weekly communications, please encourage them to contact the main office next week at 781-878-7228. You should expect another email from me next Friday concerning additional information, including information about arrival and dismissal at Cedar.

Best,

Jesse Craddock
