Cedar School News and Updates 9/30/22

I am writing to you to provide some updates as well as upcoming events at Cedar. The month of October is busy, so please mark your calendars!

As a reminder, the district will have an early release day for all students on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Please know that students will still have their lunch block at Cedar on Tuesday. I have shared the dismissal times for the Tuesday early release below:

• Please complete the COVID-19 testing consent in Aspen (Yes/No). If you have questions, please refer to the Health Update for Families message that was shared on September 15, 2022. If you still have questions, please contact Cedar’s School Nurse, Maura Dowling, at mdowling@hanoverschools.org 
• Please bring a driver's license when coming into the building. You will need your license when you check in with the main office staff. 
• We have been pleased with both our arrival and dismissal at Cedar. On average, the last bus departs the Cedar complex at 3:05 pm. If your child is in kindergarten or first grade, we ask that you please stay in the car during drop-off and pick-up. We have adults to help transition students into and out of vehicles to help make our arrival and dismissal more efficient. 

Shoutout

I would like to take a moment to recognize the work of Officer John Voelkel at Cedar School over the first month of School. Officer John has been a consistent presence in our building, meeting students as they arrive at Cedar, being a participant in school-wide activities, and helping to ensure the success of our safety drill earlier this month. Thank you for being there for our students and staff, Officer John!
