Center School Curriculum Night Information 9/15/23

Curriculum Night Will Be Held on Thursday, September 21, 2023

Curriculum Night is scheduled for next week. We look forward to seeing you and having time to meet with the teacher and hear about classroom expectations, curriculum, communication, homework, and other classroom happenings! This is an evening for parents/guardians only to have time with the teachers. No students, please.

There will be two teacher presentations per classroom (the same presentation repeated twice). Families are asked to come at their designated time based on last name. If there are families that have siblings in different grades, they are welcome to attend both sessions to get the information from the classroom. We hope this makes it possible for families with siblings to make all classroom presentations and lightens traffic/parking for this evening event.

Schedule

  • Doors Open at 5:50 pm
  • Classroom Session #1 for last name beginning A-J, 6:00-6:30 pm
  • Classroom Session #2 for last name beginning K-Z, 6:45-7:15 pm
  • It’s a wrap! 7:30 pm

Parking

Parking is available in all lots at Center School, the Sylvester Field lot, and Sylvester School. There is outdoor lighting, but you may wish to bring a flashlight if you are walking a distance from the building. Please do not park along Silver Street.

Entrances

Entrances will be open at the gym doors, FACE door, main entrance, and across from the playground. All doors will open at 5:50 pm.

Special Education Teachers, Reading Specialists, and Therapists

Special education teachers, reading specialists, and therapists will be available in their spaces from 5:50-7:30 pm on curriculum night. You can find these teachers in the following locations:

First Floor

  • Guidance - Ms. Marquardt, Mrs. Merrick (across from music room)
  • Room 3 - Mrs. Miner (across from the library)
  • Room 5 - Mrs. O’Shea (across from gym)
  • Room 10 - Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Mahoney, Mrs Healy (yellow hallway)
  • Room 14 - Mrs. Kayailas, Mrs Thornton (yellow hallway)
  • Room 19 - Mrs. Feyrer, Mrs. Zukauskas (red hallway)
  • Room 22 - Mrs. Israel
  • Room 30 - Mr. Schreiber (red hallway)

Second Floor (Orange Hallway)

  • Room 41 - Ms. Sweeney
  • Room 44 - Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Miller
  • Room 49 - Mrs. Haley, Ms. O’Donnell

Specialists

Specialist teachers will be in their classrooms from 5:50-7:30 pm in the specialist wing (first floor). Please stop by and check out some of the great things your children will be doing this year during Art, Music, IT, PE, and Wellness.
