Center School Curriculum Night Information 9/18/22

Curriculum Night is this Thursday, September 22, 2022. We look forward to seeing you and having time for you to meet with the teacher and hear about classroom expectations, curriculum, communication, and homework, among other classroom happenings! This is an evening for parents only to have time with the teachers.

There will be two teacher presentations per classroom (the same presentation repeated twice). Families are asked to come at their designated time based on their last name. Families with siblings in different grades are welcome to attend both sessions to get the information from the classroom. Our hope is that this makes it possible for families with siblings to make all classroom presentations, and lightens traffic/parking for this evening event.

In addition to materials shared in each classroom, the handouts attached at the bottom of this message will be shared at curriculum night and are included for you to have digitally as well.

Curriculum Night Schedule

Parking

Parking is available in all lots at Center School, the Sylvester Field lot and at Sylvester School. There is outdoor lighting, but you may wish to bring a flashlight if you are walking a distance from the building. Please do not park along Silver Street. 

Entrances

Entrances will be open at the gym doors, F.A.C.E. door, main entrance, and across from the playground. All doors will open at 5:45.

Teacher Locations

Special education teachers, reading specialists, and therapists will be available in their spaces from 5:45 pm to 7:45 pm on curriculum night. You can find these teachers in the following locations:

First Floor

• Guidance - Ms. Marquardt, Mrs. Merrick (across from music room)   
• Room 3 - Mrs. Miner (across from library)
• Room 5 - Mrs. O’Shea (across from gym)            
• Room 10 - Mrs. Caiafa, Mrs. Mahoney, Mrs. McNamara (yellow hallway)
• Room 14 - Mrs. Kayailas, Mrs Thornton (yellow hallway)
• Room 19 - Mrs. Feyrer, Mrs. Sokolowski (red hallway)
• Room 30 - Mr. Schreiber (red hallway)

Second Floor (orange hallway)

• Room 41 - Ms. Sweeney
• Room 44 - Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Miller
• Room 49 - Mrs. Haley, Ms. O’Donnell

Specialist teachers will be in their classrooms from 5:45 pm to 7:45 pm on the specialist wing (first floor). Please stop by and check out some of the great things your children will be doing this year during Art, Music, IT, PE, and Wellness. Don't miss the sunflower garden along the art hallway! There will be signs and a staff member directing you to the specialist wing.
