Center School Drop Off and Pick Up

We are very excited to begin school tomorrow and look forward to getting the year started as one school, grades 2-4!  The first few days of school will have a heavy focus on getting students oriented to the building and learning procedures and expectations for arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, bathrooms, hallways, and classrooms.  By Friday I am sure it will seem like we have all been here forever and the kids will be well versed in their school surroundings.  Please be assured we have planned for a smooth start to the school year.

For those who will be dropping off in the morning or picking up in the afternoon we would invite you to do a drive through before school starts tomorrow.  Access to and from Center School has changed this summer in order to provide the least congested arrival and dismissal possible for all families.

Main Loop

This is for buses only from 8:15-8:30 AM.  Any other time of the day, parents are welcome to enter and park in the driveway to access the main entrance.

Drop Off and Pick Up

  • Access for drop off and pick up is available by entering the driveway off of Silver Street only.  
  • Follow the white arrows which will lead you to the back of the building.  
  • Once you enter the driveway traffic can go to either side of the back lot and then merge back into one line along the back of the building for student drop off or pick up.  This is to help keep cars from backing up onto Silver Street.
  • Once you are back in a single line at the back side of the building, please pull up to the farthest orange cone to drop off or pick up your child.  We ask that students exit/enter the car from the right side only.  Parents do not need to park or get out of the car.  You then depart out the roadway to Route 139.
  • If there is any confusion at dismissal, we will have you pull into a parking space while we work out the concern so that the pick-up flow keeps moving.
  • For pick-up, please have our license ready to show when you pull up until we get to know all families/designated pick-up 
  • Please be aware of the speed bumps that have been installed to help keep traffic move at a safe speed.
  • Staff members will be out at various points along the drop off and pick up routes to help with arrival and dismissal.

Traffic Tip

If you have students to drop off or pick up at both elementary schools, we suggest that you drop off at Center first so that you can take right turns and go with the traffic flow to head to Cedar School.
