Center School Grade 4 Field Trip to South Shore Arts Center 11/21/22

"The Wonderful World of Dogs"

On the upcoming field trip, Grade 4 students will meet a professional artist, learn about science themes, and create their own mini masterpieces. This year the feature artist is Sally Dean, painter and museum educator. Students dive into critical thinking and narrative as they engage in Visual Thinking Strategy discussions. They trace the family tree of dogs dating back to wolves. Students create their own rainbow portrait of an animal awaiting adoption at local shelters using colored pencils on black paper.

Students also have the opportunity to be caring citizens and support these animals beyond their art. On Mondays, SSAC will collect donations from children of any sealed, unused dog or cat food, that will be delivered to a local shelter and animals in need  If your child would like to donate a pet item and bring it on their field trip day to the SSAC, it will be donated to a local animal shelter on the South Shore.

Students will be at the museum for the morning and will be back at Center School in time for lunch. Students may bring lunch or get lunch from the cafeteria on their field trip day.
