Center School Grade 4 Field Trip Schedules 1/4/22

Our first group heads out on the field trip tomorrow.  I am reposting the original notice from December 9, 2021, with some updates in blue that address added information you need to know at this time.

On Wednesday, January 5th and Wednesday, January 12th, the fourth-grade students will take a field trip to Gillette Stadium/Patriot’s Place.  Students will tour the Patriot’s Hall of Fame, do a STEM module, and eat lunch at Red Robin in Patriot’s Place.  The stem portion of the field trip is a math-focused program where students work in teams of 3-4 from their class to ship authentic player equipment to various locations.  Students are asked to select specific equipment, such as helmets, cleats, and uniforms, and then calculate the correct box for shipping.  They are also asked to assemble the box, estimate the weight, and determine the best shipping. 

We will adhere to the following health and safety precautions on the field trip: 

  • The field trip will take place both indoors and outdoors.  Masks will be required for the indoor portions of the trip for all students, staff, and chaperones.  We will be following 3 foot distancing in the museum.
  • All students and staff will wear masks on the bus ride to and from Gillette Stadium.  Some windows will be open on the bus to allow for fresh air circulation and there will be two classes assigned to each bus to allow for distancing.
  • Chaperones are asked to drive to Patriot’s Place and meet the class there.
  • Lunch will be eaten at Red Robin and we will follow the seating plan used in our cafeteria; seating by class and lunch table groups.  At the time that we are eating at Red Robin, there are few if any patrons, and we are seated in a separate area of the restaurant.
  • Lunch will be pre-ordered and all allergy precautions are followed.
  • A nurse will attend the field trip.
  • Students will travel on the field trip with their class and the same grade level group they attend lunch and recess with at school: 
    • January 5th: Luccarelli, Ferguson, Walsh, and Gordon.
    • January 12th: Lancaster, Tavares, Capraro, and Bryerton.

If you are not comfortable having your child attend the field trip for any reason, you have the option to send them to school and we will assign them in grade four for the day or you may choose to have them remain at home.  We will refund your field trip fee if you do not attend.

For students who may be sick and not able to attend the trip this week or next, please stay home and get better!  We will miss you and hope you feel better soon!  Your field trip fee will be refunded.
