Center School Health Update 1/18/24

We are writing to inform you that we have had a few cases of lice at Center School. Please check your students' hair often for signs of lice, and remind them not to share belongings such as hats and hoodies. As a reminder, our policy is to send students home if we find live bugs and/or nits for treatment. We do our best to respect the privacy of those involved. Lice does not discriminate, it can happen to anyone, and it is not an indication of cleanliness. Lice do not fly or hop and they die within 24 hours without a host.

We have notified the Director of Health Services and the Public Health Nurse. The current recommendation is to remain vigilant and check your child frequently. If you have any questions, please reach out to Katie Driscoll, Center School School Nurse, Carol Krall, Interim Director of Health Services, or Nancy Funder, Hanover Public Health Nurse.

We appreciate your patience and attention to this matter. If more information is required, we will share it with you promptly.

Thank you,
