Center School News 8/2/20

August 2, 2020

It has been another busy week and lots of information disseminated throughout the district.  I appreciate those who took the time to read the summary of the parent survey regarding home learning.  I have received feedback from a few parents and our working group that they would like to see this information passed on to Hanover Middle School for our rising fourth graders. It was also suggested that we review the information from the parent perspective from our incoming second graders.  These are great suggestions and we will work on this during the week.  In addition to sharing the information with the other schools, we will also send a copy to all of you.

I will be in touch this week with a date for a virtual parent meeting.

Enjoy the week and here’s hoping Tropical Storm Isaias brings only much needed rain this week!

Message from Mrs. Madden and Gianna

With the beautiful weather we have had this summer I'm sure you and your families have spent a great deal of time outside enjoying the sunshine.  During the heat wave these past few weeks though, my family found ourselves in the house more than usual.  While trying to escape the high temperatures and humidity, we ended up watching a couple of movies together as a family.  Like most experiences in life, watching an age appropriate movie or show together can become a learning opportunity (Common Sense Media can be a helpful resource in determining whether a show, movie, app, or book is appropriate for your child/family).  Just taking the time to have a conversation and ask your children some simple questions (SEL With Screen Time) can help teach and reinforce important social emotional skills.
