Center School News and Updates 10/24/22

We had a lot of positive experiences during inclusive schools week and will be posting some of the highlights on Monday. Thank you to Mrs. Darcy for a great display outside of the cafeteria with the message about the superpowers we all have and how we use them in our daily lives. Ryan Haack presented his story of being born and growing up with one arm. He shared his story of how he learned to do most anything with one arm and overcoming the challenges he faced in learning to put on a shirt, play sports, ride a bike, and many other things. We met Charlie, the comfort dog who will join us each Friday at school. Our hereditary dog program for grade three had to reschedule and we hope to have them rescheduled soon.

Next Monday, teachers have planned various activities around fall; Day of the Dead, Halloween, and bees! Your child’s classroom teacher will be reaching out to let you know their plans and any help that is needed. Students are invited to wear their costumes to school on Monday, October 31, 2022. Make-up, wigs, and costumes are welcome. We ask that students leave masks and accessories at home. Wearing costumes is optional and we invite students to celebrate this time of year in the way that is most comfortable for them!

Our only notice this week is regarding life-threatening allergies and the precautionary plan we follow at school to maintain safety for all students. The information provided in this letter applies to the bus as well. Our students are familiar with these precautions and keeping their friends safe. Please take a moment to review this information (please see attached).
