Center School News and Updates 11/10/23

We often look so forward to having an extra day off that we sometimes forget why we have it. After attending our Veterans Day Ceremony (video) on Thursday, it will be hard for our students and adults to forget the importance of this day off. I want to thank Mrs. Monahan and Mrs. Wilson, and our students for their words, song, and the spirit they brought to the ceremony. It was not only very well done but extremely meaningful.

A lot goes on behind the scenes to make events happen for our students. The decorations, flags, organizing of the scouts, filming, and inviting our honor guards to join us are just a small part of preparing to honor and recognize our Veterans. The Wall of Heroes, which so many of you contributed photos to, will remain on display through January, and we encourage everyone to stop by and spend some time looking at the photos. Thank you to Mrs. Monahan for showing our students the true meaning of Veterans Day and sharing it with our school community.

Music is another big piece of our learning for this special holiday. There is nothing like words from a song and music to share the emotion of how important our Veterans are to all of us. The High School Vox and Band, as well as the 600+ chorus of our own students was organized and brought together by Mrs. Wilson to share music for today. Thank you for bringing the joy of music to our school on so many levels.

Links to all of our Veterans Day activities will be sent out by Mrs. Monahan - enjoy!

Thank you to all our Veterans,

Mrs. DeGrenier
Principal

Conferences

Conferences are planned for next week. Please enter the building through the main entrance at your conference time. Check out the Wall of Heroes located across from the music room.

Lost and Found

A lot of items have accumulated in the first few months of school. All items are in one area in the lobby. Please stop by during conferences or encourage your child to come and check for lost items. We are asking that families start labeling water bottles, lunch bags, and clothing so that we can return items left behind. Thank you!

Lost and found items will be donated or recycled on November 22, 2023.
