Center School News and Updates 12/14/22
Our goal is to go outside every day and get fresh air. Students are outside for 25 minutes and need to be dressed for the weather; hats, coats, and boots. If it is snowy and students have all the appropriate clothing they will be able to go onto the playground and field. On days when it is 28 degrees or below (including wind chill) we will be staying indoors.
On Monday of this week, we did not go outside when we normally would have due to some repairs that were being completed to the large playground.
Today, we had several students arrive without coats. As a mother of two boys who fought the coat battle for years, I can empathize, but need the students to come to school dressed for extended outdoor play in cold weather. It is ok to say, “Mrs. DeGrenier said, coats are needed for recess!”
We have noticed an uptick in student and staff illness over the past week or so. We are focusing on cleaning surfaces and fogging all classrooms to keep ahead of the germs. A reminder to please keep your child home if they have a fever and not have them return to school until they are fever free for twenty-four hours. If they are not feeling well or have symptoms please stay home and rest until they are feeling better. Any questions, please reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. Carol Krall.
It is helpful for students to bring water bottles and stay hydrated. We have water filling stations with filtered water and students may refill their water bottles during the day.
