Center School News and Updates 8/25/23
I hope you are taking in every minute of the last days of summer before we begin a new school year! I am happy to report the hens are back at school and enjoying their new fenced area and coop. They began laying eggs in late August and we have sent the first dozen eggs to the food pantry. Your gardens are growing like mad and there are lots of tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, corn, and sunflowers for you to see when you return. We will be looking for lots of help to maintain the gardens and care for the chickens. We are adding annual and perennial beds in the courtyard, too. We are hoping classes will take over some of these areas and help with the planting and care.
We are looking for the donation of a small vegetable stand to be used in front of the school. If you have one you are not using or are able to donate the materials for one, we would be very grateful. Please email jdegrenier@hanoverschools.org if you can help out with this item (In September, we will be looking for donations of landscape fabric, perennials, and annuals-stay tuned).
On Saturday, August 26, 2023, the DPW has a company coming to resurface the playground at Center School so that it is ready for the school year. Our playgrounds get a lot of use and we are pleased to have them cared for and ready to go for the new school year. We have also invested in new outdoor equipment (footballs, basketballs, chalk, tennis balls for wall ball, and life-size games like Jenga and Connect Four) with the remaining funds from Sports Day. Recess Rocks!!!

Visiting Day for Center School: Visiting Day for students in grades 2-4 is Thursday, August 31, 2023. Please follow your visiting time(s). We have staggered the times to allow for ample parking and access to the classrooms. Thank you for your support!
