Happy Summer

Happy First Day of Summer!  It quickly becomes very quiet at school with students gone home and teachers heading off for summer vacation.  Before we settle into summer break, I wanted to thank you for a wonderful year.  A lot was accomplished and your support is greatly appreciated.  Our year was a continuous stream of shifting what and how we do our everyday routines or annual events.  After seeing our new building, we know it was all worth it.

I would also like to acknowledge our staff.  They were simply amazing and rolled through the year making it look like no big deal.  Please know that it was a big deal and there was nothing they did that was easy.  They endured volumes of communication, shifts in schedules, relocation of classes or events, and a daily awareness that a multi-million dollar construction project was happening right outside our windows.  I am in awe of their professionalism and how our students seemed to roll through the year almost oblivious that anything was different about this school year.

Our last day of school ended with a Lip Sync Show that I hope was enjoyed by all!  This was the culminating incentive for exceeding our goal int he Fun Run. A special thank you to our 'greatest showman', Mr. Wilson and all of the backup singers who opened the show with a memorable performance. A big thank you to our other acts from  Ms. Bartlett, Mrs DiBara and Mrs. Pollock, Grade 3 'Dinosaurs', Mr. Schreiber, and Mr. Lindsey.  It was a lot of fun and we hope the students enjoyed seeing the silly side of their teachers and administrators.  Mr. Ryerson captured this memorable event on video so it may becoming to a Facebook page near you.

As soon as students left on Monday the move to the new building began.  By the end of the day today, we will be completely moved into the new building and the existing Center School will close for renovation.  If you attempt to reach us in the next few days please be aware that we are merging all of our systems including technology, phones, etc.  Please be patient, leave messages, and we will get back to you.  I have included a time line below that may help you see how our months in the future will roll out.

Thank you again for a wonderful school year and enjoy every summer day!  Lots of reading, napping, swimming, playing, and time with summer family and friends!
