Traffic Information for Arrival and Dismissal

In order to make our mornings and afternoons go as smoothly as possible we have put a temporary plan in place for arrival and dismissal at both buildings until the construction project reaches completion.  It may take a few days for us to adapt to the new routine and we appreciate your patience and support so that we can create a safe and efficient plan for our students to begin and end their day.

• Please refer to the attached map that shows the traffic flow for Center School: 
• Sylvester School traffic flow remains the same.  Bus drop off and pick up in the back of Sylvester School. Parent drop off and pick up in the front of the building, entering the one-way driveway off of Route 139.

Arrival times for both schools is 8:15-8:30 AM.  Arrival after 8:30 AM is considered tardy.  We ask that you park in a parking space in the front of the building and walk your child to the main office and sign them in to school.  Students may not be dropped off and left unattended in the parking lot. 

Dismissal times for both schools begins at 2:55 PM.  The driveways will open up at 2:50 PM for those who wish to get in the car line early.  All students are dismissed by 3:10 PM.  Should you arrive late, your child will be waiting in the main office and you are asked to come in and sign them out. Please call the main office (781-826-2631, ext "0") if you realize that you are not able to make the pick-up time.

Sylvester: Parent drop off and pick up, as well as bus drop off/pick up will remain the same as last year.

• Parents enter the one-way driveway off route 139 and drop off at the front entrance. You can look forward to the return of Mr. File at your morning drop off!  
• Buses will enter the back driveway for staff parking and drop of behind Sylvester.
• If you have children at both buildings we strongly suggest you pick up at Sylvester first as it is easier to turn right to get over to Center School at these busy times of day.

Center:

• Please refer to the attached map that shows the traffic flow for Center School.
• Enter the first driveway at 65 Silver Street.  You are entering the same initial parking lot as the buses and will bear to the right and not enter the bus loop.  You will drive along the building around to the back and line up along the curbing next to the playground.  
• Please remain in your car at both drop off and pick up and a staff member will walk your child to your car.
• As we work on a safe pick-up and drop off from cars, please have your driver's license available for the first few days/week.  Thank you.
• The car drop-off and pick-up area is only open from 8:15-8:30 AM and 2:50-3:10 PM.   All other times a gate will be down so that vehicles may not enter the driveway that passes the playground.
• Parents may park in the front parking spaces in the bus loop if they need to dismiss a student from school between 8:30 AM -2:45 PM.  
• Buses only will use the loop from 8:15-8:30 AM and 2:50-3:10 PM. Buses will pick up and drop off students from the main entrance of Center School supervised by school staff.
