Hanover Middle School Guidance Department Information 9/20/23

Please read this with your child(ren)

Welcome to Hanover Middle School! We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves to you. Each student at HMS is assigned to a guidance counselor. This message is to let you know who we are, what we do, and where you can find us.

This school year, Mrs. Chebator will work with grades 6 and 8, Mrs. Ward will work with grades 5 and 7, and Mrs. Callahan works with all grade levels.

Students, this is an exciting time in your life! During the next few years, you will face new challenges and grow in many ways.  You will gain a great deal of academic knowledge, develop more independence, and form new friendships.

Sometimes, it is helpful to talk with someone about your ideas and concerns. Usually, you share many of your thoughts with your family or friends, but you also have someone here to talk with at school. Students and parents can make appointments to discuss a variety of topics. For example, we meet with students and parents (alone and/or together) to discuss:

  • Academics Grief
  • Adolescent Concerns
  • Home Difficulties
  • Bus Problems
  • Peer conflicts
  • Friendships
  • Social Concerns
  • Anxiety
  • and much more...

If you would like to schedule an appointment, feel free to stop by the Guidance Office (in the HMS lobby area). You may also call us at 781-871-1122
