CORI/SORI Status

Please check your Aspen Portal to be sure you have a current CORI/SORI with Hanover Public Schools before signing up to volunteer. Volunteers are not allowed into the building without a current CORI. With the new regulations for CORIs, we cannot accept any volunteers who have not yet cleared with the town. If you sign up and your CORI is not up-to-date, you will be removed from the signup. We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience.

To check your CORI status:

  1. Log in to your Aspen account
  2. Click Contacts
  3. Click Family
  4. Check the CORI date in the chart for your name

In order for as many families as possible to participate in this event, only one family member per student should sign up for a volunteer slot. Thank you for your understanding!

Please note that students randomly wander the building for this event and you sign up for a specific location by volunteering. You may or may not see or be with your child during the event, depending on their chosen wanderings.

Please note there is a volunteer code of conduct and by signing up to volunteer, you are agreeing to the following:

Hanover PTA Code of Conduct

Meetings

Please respect and support all attendees and their contributions.

Confidentiality

Volunteers are expected and required to keep all student information that they obtain while working as a volunteer for the school confidential. The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) prohibits school personnel and volunteers from releasing any student information without parent/guardian permission. Student information includes all academic, medical, and personal information. It is very important that volunteers maintain confidentiality at all times. Volunteers should not discuss students or their classroom performance with others - including their parents/guardians. It is the responsibility of the teacher to communicate with the student’s parents/guardians. Do not make references to students’ abilities in front of other students or adults.

Social Media

Please do not post any pictures of any children (other than your own) to any social media site. If the teacher asks you to take photos of a classroom event, please just email the teacher those photos and have the teacher distribute them to the classroom.

Thank you very much for volunteering your time to Hanover Public Schools!
