Hanover Middle School Math Olympiads Information 10/3/23

Information, Sign-Up, and Schedules

Hanover Middle School is proud to announce a great opportunity for all our students, specifically our math enthusiasts. We are offering an after-school program called Math Olympiads. This program is free to all families.

Math Olympiads is an international math program for students who love problem-solving. The problems are high-level and engaging for students. This is not a math help session but an enrichment for students who love math and a challenge. Students work on contests individually during contest weeks (5 total contests) and practice and refine their skills in between those contests.

The program starts in October and runs until the middle of March. If your student would like to join the program, they will be able to:

  • Stimulate enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics
  • Introduce important Mathematical concepts
  • Teach major strategies for problem-solving
  • Develop Mathematical flexibility in solving problems
  • Strengthen Mathematical intuition
  • Foster Mathematical creativity and ingenuity
  • Provide the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges

There are two different math teams: The grade 5 and 6 team is run by Ms. Lori McKenna starting Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in room 128, and the grade 7 and 8 team is run by Ms. Christine Judge starting Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in room 208.

The schedule for each group is attached to this message.

It starts at 2:15 pm and runs until 3:00 pm. If the group has to be canceled for any reason, an announcement will be made throughout the school.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Andrea Hurley, Lori Mckenna, or Chrissy Judge.
