Hanover Middle School Writes Information 1/4/24

We are happy to announce that on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, the students of Hanover Middle School will be taking part in HMS Writes. During HMS Writes, our entire student body will be reading selected texts and responding to a writing prompt. Having this extended block of time will give all students the opportunity to read grade-level texts with the goal of utilizing the entire writing process in one day.

Today, we met with students and shared the importance of this writing opportunity as well as clear expectations for next Tuesday. Students are required to come to school with nothing but a positive attitude and a willingness to try their best.

As a staff, we will use this writing assessment as a tool to make the writing process visible and to support each writer individually. This will also help us to see strengths and weaknesses across grade levels and make meaningful plans for future instruction.
