Harvest Fest and Harvest Jam is Friday!

Harvest Fest and Harvest Jam is this Friday!  This correspondence is to explain a little bit about the events on Friday, student expectations, and to thank the HMS staff and parents in advance.

Harvest Fest is a fundraiser for the Visiting Nurse’s Association of Hanover.  Students are allowed to come to school on this day dressed in school appropriate costumes.  If you have to ask yourself, “Should I ask Mr. Birolini if this is okay?”  it probably is not appropriate.  We run a half day schedule for academics and run the Harvest Fest from 12:30-2:00 PM.  During this time our students get to travel across the school and participate in different fundraising games.  Some of these events include, a costume contest, Candy Palooza, Eye Ball Toss, Jewelry Making, a haunted locker room and much, much more!  The majority of games are between 50 cents to 1 dollar and the average students bring between 5 and 10 dollars.  It is important to us to have all students involved in this wonderful day so please contact the main office if money for the fest is an issue.

The Harvest Jam is a live middle school comedy, singing, dancing, and musical show.  There are 2 shows.  A show for grades 5 & 6 tickets sell for $5 and the show begins directly following school on Friday.  Students will need to be picked up at 4:00 PM (may I recommend carpooling).   The 7th and 8th grade family show begins at 7:00-8:30 PM and tickets are on sale for $7.

The HMS Haunted Locker Room was very successful last year and we are opening haunted delight this year between the two shows.

I would like to end by thanking the HMS Staff for the hours of planning that makes this experience possible for our students.   A special thank you to the HPTA and all of the parents who donate their time and efforts to make this a success.  It doesn’t happen without you!

Please contact me with any and all questions, concerns, and ideas.

Happy Harvest Fest!
