Information for 6th Grade Parents/Guardians Regarding Medications 6/1/23

All the routine medications: Tylenol, Motrin, Hydrocortisone Cream, and Benadryl, if signed by you as approved on the back of the health emergency cards filled out last September, will be available to be given if necessary on the field trip, just like at school.

Students are not permitted to hold on to and independently take medications except inhalers. Please make sure your child’s name is on the medication.

If your child takes a prescription or over-the-counter medication, I will begin to accept these medications the week before the trip. June 1- 7, 2023.

It is required that you, the parent or guardian, hand deliver all medication to the school health office in the original prescription bottle. However, they should only contain the number of pills that will be taken during the time at camp. A doctor's school medication order is necessary for all prescriptions and over the counter medications. Please view the Authorization for Medication Administration in School form. Your provider may have their own form for use.

All unused medication should be picked up by the parent or guardian at the school health office on the day we return from camp. All unclaimed medications must be destroyed.

Thank you,
