Literacy Resources Grades 2-4 3/23/20

Reading resources and a message for parents

Our students are actively learning at all grade levels to be strong readers.  While we are away from school we want our students to continue to practice their reading fluency, reading skills, and to be read aloud to as often as possible by someone in their home.  Our three reading specialists, Meghan Caiafa, Jen McDonald, and Christine Clark have put together key resources for students to work on their reading skills at home.  It is not meant to overwhelm you, but to offer resources that will target each component of learning to read.  Focusing on just one of these areas (or more) will help your child maintain their skills and show continuity on their learning continuum in reading.  Please take a look when you have a moment and if you have questions about reading related to your child, please reach out to your child's teacher and they can guide you.  Our three reading specialists are available as well and can be reached by email (first initial, last name @ hanoverschools.org).

An assignment and message for our students

Every day at Center School we practice being STAR students.  You can continue this mission at home by being respectful, responsible, and safe every day and showing everyone what a STAR you can be!  Throughout this year we have taken time to show acts of KINDNESS in many ways.  This week we would like to ask you to show your GRATITUDE by hanging a red heart on your front door or in your front window.  This will send a message that we are thankful to all the doctors, nurses, fire, police, and EMTs who are working so hard to take care of all us during this time.  This week let Center School show their GRATITUDE!

Please be safe and stay well,

Mrs. DeGrenier
Principal
