Hanover High School Course Registration 4/14/21

On Friday, April 16th, grade 8 students will be able to log into their student Aspen accounts to register for high school courses. The Program of Studies provides detailed information on the new HHS Pathways, graduation requirements, and school policies.  It includes descriptions for every course offering at HHS.  This year, we have created a “curriculum corner” on our website where students can view videos and curricula syllabi to learn more about what is offered here at HHS.

Within each student's Aspen account, teachers have made recommendations regarding course levels for next year.  These recommendations are based on a student's performance, observed potential, and work ethic.  For your convenience, the recommended courses have pre-filled to your child’s account.  Students will only need to register for their electives.  All students will register for 7.5 credits worth of electives. This can be three 2.5 credit courses OR one 5.0 credit course and one 2.5 credit course. Eighth-grade students have until April 30th to register.  Some courses have a maximum enrollment, so students are encouraged to go online and register earlier rather than later. View a video tutorial on how to enter courses.

I have also included a course registration instruction sheet. Please refer to the attachment following this message.

The counseling department has been working hard to start academic, college, and career counseling as early as possible in an effort for students to feel they are best prepared for their futures.  The guidance department has created a Google Classroom page for the Class of 2025.  All students are encouraged to log into their HHS Google Classroom accounts and join with the following code: a6bmlx6.

Counselors are continuously posting information on course registration, college and career planning, and all other important information.  They’ve already posted a course academic planning sheet, whereby students – if they choose to – can begin to start brainstorming all the courses they may want to take in high school. Also on Google Classroom- students can view videos from former students who share their experiences at HHS. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Pauline Ward, HMS Guidance Counselor, or Korri Byron, HHS Guidance Director

That's it for now.  Be warm.  Be safe.
