Hanover High School English Language Arts MCAS Schedule 3/16/22

This message contains important information about the English Language Arts MCAS scheduled for the week of March 21, 2022.

Who is taking the test?

179 Sophomores and 6 Juniors.

When is the test?

Tuesday, March 22^nd, During periods 1-4, and Wednesday, March 23^rd, During periods 1-3.
Students must be in school on both testing days.

Where is the test?

Most of the testing rooms will be on the 3^rd floor, in rooms 301-317.
A few conference rooms in Guidance and in the Main Office will be used as well.
There will be signs posted in the foyer for students to know their assigned testing room.
All tests will be taken on school-issued Chromebooks.

Student priorities before the test

Please practice some MCAS test questions.
The essay questions are typically based on 3 passages that are provided; close reading helps the students use the information provided to develop their essays.

The day of the test

Please make sure that you are well-rested, have a good breakfast, and report to school on time.
Wear comfortable clothes.
Arrive at your testing location on time and with a positive and productive mindset.
Provide the best effort and work result possible, go after every point.
Bring a book to read in case you finish early.

During the test

Know that electronic devices are not allowed.
Cell phones must be off and stowed away (not on your person).
Listen to the proctor's instructions, read all directions carefully, and ask questions if any directions are unclear.
If you get stuck on any one item, skip it, you can bookmark it and return to it later.
Read all questions carefully, you might need to reread them, before answering.
Check your answers for accuracy.
Re-read your essay to check for simple errors or to provide more depth as needed.
