Hanover High School First Day of School 9/15/20

Back to School 2020-2021

It was so nice to see everyone.  Obviously, it’s going to take some time to get oriented to the building, the classes, the policies – procedures – and protocols.  It’s a lot to absorb.

Tomorrow is our first day of school – every student’s remote.  If you have an elective tomorrow, you’ll be attending your “A-Day” elective.  In fact, we’re working within a weekly schedule now, so think of the next 5 school days as an “A-Cycle”.  Simplifying it, these cycles do not pertain to yearlong courses.  Phew!  This Thursday and Friday, our Gold Cohort will be in person, and next Monday and Tuesday – our Blue Cohort will be in-person – closing our first weekly cycle.

A few quick things to know

  • Please check your email, your Aspen account, or Google Classroom to ensure you know when you’re classes meet tomorrow.  Going forward that information will be streamline, if not already.
  • I’ll talk about flex-block tomorrow afternoon.  Focus on tomorrow morning.
  • I’ll talk about lunches tomorrow afternoon.  Focus on tomorrow morning.
  • I’ll talk about much more tomorrow afternoon.  For now, focus on tomorrow morning.

Your updated schedules are being published and sent now.  (Give it a few minutes if it's not there yet).  As of the publishing of these schedules, we are no longer accepting schedule-change requests.  Far too much time, energy, thought, and care have gone into balancing these across the entire school.  Please be respectful of these efforts and understand the constraints of our current situation.  Thank you!  If there is an issue with your schedule, your guidance counselor will be reaching out to you.

Let’s have an excellent 1st day of school, and I’ll follow-up tomorrow with updates and further information.

That’s it for now.  Be well.  Be safe.
