Hanover High School News 10/12/20

This message is to inform you that an individual at HHS has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. This person has not been in the High School building since Tuesday, October 6th, outside of the infectious period. Therefore, there was no classroom-related exposure. Anyone who was affected as a result of extracurricular activities will be notified separately. We ask that you maintain the privacy of this individual and understand that there is no stigma related to a positive COVID-19 test. This virus can impact anyone, and we ask for your understanding and kindness during this time.

We have conducted contract tracing in collaboration with the Hanover Board of Health, and we are working to contact students who may have been in close contact with this person.

Please continue to follow the guidance provided by the Hanover Health Services Department, Department of Public Health, and the CDC. Wear a mask at all times in our school buildings and on our school grounds, practice 6-foot distancing, wash your hands often and stay home if you are ill.

If you feel that you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, or if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your healthcare provider and your school nurse. They are in the best position to advise you and to help you navigate the process.

The health and safety of our school community is our priority. If more information is required, we will notify you via the usual communication channels.

Sincerely,
