Hanover High School News and Notes 4/27/21

As we continue to keep the school grounds as safe as possible, I want to thank you again for your cooperation and understanding with our recent adjustments to pick-up at the high school. 

As a reminder, we cannot have any arrivals at the high school until 2:25 pm, as there will be no access to the driveway/property from 1:55 pm to 2:25 pm.  Additionally, HPD will not allow traffic to idle on Cedar Street prior to 2:25 pm.  Idling traffic forces westbound traffic to pass on the eastbound side of travel, which is our main safety concern.  We’ll be placing cones at the front entrance at Cedar Street as well as the entrance from Cedar Drive, near the main student parking lot.  Please be advised that no one will be able to access the school property from any direction during this time (including the rear entrance).

As a reminder, next Wednesday, May 5^th is the annual HTA early-release day.  As well – Friday, May 14^th is a scheduled early release day for the purpose of professional development and Senior Prom preparations.   Senior Prom will be held here at the high school on Saturday, May 15^th.   As you can imagine, several factors associated with any in-person event need to be considered carefully and planned accordingly.  As we discuss and finalize this event and others with HPD, HFD, and our local Board of Health, I’ll provide all necessary information in a timely manner.  Prom and graduation guidelines are near completion, so you can expect details this week.  In the meantime, I’ve provided you a snapshot of May and June, and I'll also send along later this week any updated state-guidance documents regarding both prom and graduation.  (They changed just today).
