Hanover High School News and Updates 11/14/22

A few quick notes for all of you:

  • Today is the start of the second term at HHS! Soon we will be having our Class Assemblies where students will be recognized for their accomplishments as well as potentially receiving a $20 gift card if they win one in the Term One Perfect Attendance lottery (special THANK YOU to the HPTA for sponsoring these twenty gift cards!).
  • The girls’ soccer team has advanced to the Final Four of the MIAA State Tournament, they will now play Dover-Sherborn this Wednesday night at 6:30 pm at Weymouth High School.
  • The football team has also advanced to the Final Four of the MIAA State Tournament and will go up against #1 seed Milton tentatively scheduled for this Friday at 7:00 pm at Weymouth High School.
  • We have our Parent/Teacher Conferences this Thursday, November 17th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm as well as from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Book-it is closed, so please contact your child’s teacher directly if you still need to schedule an appointment.
  • The HHS Drama Club will be presenting its main stage musical, 13, this weekend on Friday at 7:00 pm, Saturday at 7:00 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm. We hope you all attend as it is going to be a great show! Tickets are available for students to purchase at lunch, or at Salmond School.
  • The HHS Competitive Cheer team earned the MSAA Division 3 South Sectional title yesterday! The team advances to compete in the MSAA State Finals this Sunday at Worcester State University (time TBA) and has a great chance to earn the school's first-ever Cheerleading State Title!
  • As we near our Thanksgiving break, please know that Wednesday, November 23rd will be an early release day at 11:00 am, and no lunches are served at HHS that day.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a new batch of articles from the HHS student newspaper:

  1. Jake Faghan writes about the upcoming production of 13: The Musical.
  2. Paulina Leskow and Norah Kelley cover the HHS Cabaret.
  3. Abby Van Duyn writes about new releases in movies and music.
  4. Abbey Kinzel continues her movie reviews with a look at the Saw franchise.
  5. There are photo stories on Spirit Week and the Outreach Club as well as a roundup of fall tournament action.
