Hanover High School News and Updates 11/21/23

News, Updates, and Thanksgiving Break Information

Just a few quick notes before we all break for Thanksgiving.

  • Tomorrow is a shorter half day than our usual Early Release days. The school day will end at 11:00 am and lunch will not be served.
  • Hanover Public Schools and Hanover High School recently reviewed our ALICE safety and security training with all of our staff during our preparations for the new school year and with all of our students during class assemblies. To that effect, please know that we will be conducting an ALICE drill with students sometime during the week after Thanksgiving Break, November 27, 2023. This training will serve to continue our primary goal of securing our schools.
  • Wednesday, November 29th, HPS Nurses will be conducting health screenings for 9th and 10th graders. These will take place in the gym and locker rooms beginning during the 1st period of the day and we anticipate having them completed by lunchtime.
  • AP exam payment schedule will be coming out after the Thanksgiving Break. The total cost per exam is $89. Payments must be made in full in order for students to be administered the exam. Please reach out to Mrs. Rooney at jrooney@hanoverschools.org if you have any questions or concerns.
  • The HPTA would like to thank all parents whose donations helped stock the high school break rooms. There are six of them throughout the school and we were able to supply all of them with treats and coffee. The list went fast and we are so grateful for our supportive community. We will be doing this again in the spring. The teachers are so thankful. If you haven’t joined the high school PTA group you can send us a request. The group’s name is Hanover High PTA. Thank you!

We at Hanover High School hope that all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
