Hanover High School News and Updates 12/2/22

Please read a few announcements from Hanover High School, December 2, 2022.

NEASC Visit

You may have heard our students speak about NEASC over the course of the past few weeks, as we have been making several announcements to that effect. NEASC is the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and we will be hosting a Visiting Team at HHS next Thursday and Friday, December 8th and 9th. NEASC is the entity that provides accreditation to our school on a decennial basis. Through this extensive process, HHS will continue in its cycle of school improvement and adherence to our core values and learning expectations for all students. The NEASC Visitation Team (comprised of a half dozen experienced educators) will be in our classrooms, in our hallways, in our cafeteria, and on our campus for 2 days evaluating HHS on our Self-Reflection Report. So, if you hear the phrase NEASC from your child, please know that we are looking forward to their presence on campus!

From the Desk of Mrs. Rooney, Assistant Principal

SAT Day for juniors is April 12th. This is voluntary. A Google Form will be sent out at the beginning of next week for all juniors who want to take the SATs here at HHS. Juniors must fill out the Google Form if they want to take the SATs. If students do not fill out the form, they will not be signed up to take the SATs. If students sign up for the SATs and decide they are no longer interested, please know that we will not be issuing refunds. Students with accommodations, please reach out to your guidance counselor ASAP to ensure they are accurate in the College Board system.

Pre-ACT day is scheduled for February 15th. This is also voluntary for any sophomore student. A Google Form will be sent out at the beginning of next week for all sophomores who want to participate in the Pre-ACT here at HHS. If students do not fill out the form, they will not be signed up for the Pre-ACT. If students sign up for the Pre-ACT and decide they are no longer interested, please know that we will not be issuing refunds.

Refunds for the SATs and Pre-ACT will be issued for students with excused absences only. All payments can be made through Uni-pay. Links will be provided at the end of the Google Form. Please contact Mrs. Rooney at jrooney@hanoverschools.org for questions or concerns.

WiFi and Network

Please be aware that we continued to experience periods of underperforming Wi-Fi this week. The students and teachers have been patient and resolute as we are diagnosing and resolving the issue. That being said, it is important that you are aware that in some cases the issue has impacted assignment submission and grade entry into Aspen. To provide more time for teachers to enter scores into Aspen, we are pushing the publishing of Term 2 Progress Reports to Monday, December 12th at 3:00 pm.

Thank you and have a great weekend,

HHS Administration
